Research Lines

Our research is organized in two main programmes with nine specific research groups:

  1. Determinants and primary prevention:
    Mission: to better understand the social and physical determinants of population health and develop effective primary preventive interventions to improve population health. Research groups: Social epidemiology, youth health care and occupational health.
  2. Secondary prevention and care:
    Mission: to contribute to population health by evaluating the effects (both harms and benefits) and cost-effectiveness of health care interventions. Research groups: Evaluation of screening, medical decision-making, infectious disease control, health technology assessment, medical care and decision-making at the end of life,and cancer surveillance.
